Alarm Ordinance Registration is required under the Town of Greenwich Alarm Ordinance, which was adopted by the Town in 1980. All alarm devices installed calling for a response from the Police or Fire Department must be registered with the Police Department. Please call 203-618-8339 for more information.   




On January 1, 2024, the annual registration fee will be $30.


Registration Fees:

  • A late fee of $50 will be added if not paid by July 31st, for a total of $80.
  • A late fee of $200 will be added if not paid by August 31st, for a total of $230.

 False Alarm Fines:

  • 1st activation is free for a properly registered alarm (registration form on file)
  • 2nd activation is $50
  • 3rd activation is $100
  • 4th activation is $150
  • 5th + activation is $200 per incident

How to Register Your Alarm

1) Download the Alarm Ordinance Registration Form                 

2) Fill out the form, save it to your computer, and email it to alarm@greenwichct.org

3) You may also print the form and mail it along with your $20 registration fee (make checks payable to the Town of Greenwich) to:
