On September 17th, 2018, the RTM passed a Sense of the Meeting Resolution (SOMR) by a vote of 126-55-3 identifying inadequate fire protection in North West Greenwich and calling upon the First Selectman and the BET to assess the situation and provide recommendations as part of the FY20 budget process.
Below are the results of the Town's analysis of fire protection in North West Greenwich, the First Selectman's Response to the RTM SOMR, and supporting budget documentation presented as part of the FY20 budget process. Based on the analysis of North West Greenwich fire protection, both the First Selectman's and the Board of Estimate and Taxation's proposed budgets included funding to take initial steps to build a fire station in North West Greenwich. The RTM voted 102-91 to remove the initial funding in the Final Budget on May 13, 2019.
